HOUSE PARENT COUPLE (Full-time/Designated Cottage)

Seeking married Christian couples for the role of House Parents on our campus. Join us in ministry and help provide care and supervision to youth in our residential cottages. Model family communication and dynamics while creating a supportive environment for up to ten children. You will receive wraparound support from multiple staff members whose role it is to help you be successful. Flexibility, patience, and a desire to change lives for the better are a must. Enjoy a 8-days-on/6-off schedule and additional support services.

Previous experience working with children in a residential setting is desirable, but not required. Our cottages offer dedicated house parent bedrooms and bathrooms, with room for your children. Off-campus personal residence needed during off-weeks. Come be part of our faith-based community and transform lives through love and compassion.

HOUSE PARENT COUPLE (Full-time/Floating)

Married, Christian couple sought to provide rotating support to multiple cottages on our campus. Couple will work 8-days-on/6-off when working together as house parents, filling in for regular house parents during vacations, respites, vacancies, and sick leave. When not scheduled to work as house parents, couple will provide support to various departments within the ministry based on previous job experience, skill set, and background, working 5 days on/2 days off. 

Previous experience working with children in a residential setting is desirable, but not required. House parents provide care for up to ten children in a designated house; teach residents basic living skills; take children to appointments; maintain their assigned cottage; and provide a supportive, positive environment. Flexibility, patience, and a desire to change lives for the better a must. Must have valid drivers license and be willing to drive 15 passenger bus.

VP of Operations needed to lead and mentor the management teams of the Shepherd of the Hills Retreat Center, Mountain Home Thrift Store: Cheryl’s Place, Thirteen Pennies Cafe, and the BMH Volunteer Program, and Facilities & Maintenance Department. Your strategic vision will drive operational excellence, sustainability, and growth, while fostering strong community relationships. With your proven track record in business management and leadership, you’ll guide our operations to new heights, always striving for excellence and continuous improvement.

As a key member of our executive team, you’ll collaborate closely with our President and other leaders to align our strategies with our mission and vision. Your ability to problem-solve and innovate will be invaluable as we navigate challenges and seize opportunities.  If you have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, along with 7-10 years of senior management experience, we want to hear from you. Mountain Home Thrift Store General Manager

Black Mountain Home is looking for a compassionate individual with retail management experience. In this role, you will lead our thrift store and cafe teams in upholding our mission of glorifying God by caring for children, youth, and families.  Your role will include supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing inventory and sales, and supporting fundraising efforts. You’ll also work closely with our Apprenticeship Program staff to coordinate food service in the café and other job training opportunities. We’re seeking someone with retail experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to our Christian values. Summer Camp

Are you passionate about working with children and have a knack for creating fun, engaging activities? Then, join our BMH 7 week summer recreation team (July 2-August 19, 2024 – first and last days are on Tuesdays)

Summer Camp Staff & Counselors

This role is perfect for someone with a high school diploma or equivalent, who ideally has experience working with children in a recreational setting. As a part of our Christian ministry, you’ll be at the heart of our mission: Glorifying God by caring for children and families. Your role will involve developing and supervising camp-wide programming, building relationships with campers, and ensuring their physical and emotional safety.

This job requires a high level of energy and attention, as well as professionalism in all interactions with youth, including maintaining boundaries and not sharing personal contact information. Experienced Senior Summer Staff

This role is ideal for those who have completed at least two years of college or its equivalent and have a solid background in working directly with children in a recreational setting. If you have prior experience with Black Mountain Home’s recreation program, it’s an added advantage. As a senior staff member, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and collaborating with other summer camp staff to ensure the delivery of quality programming that aligns with our mission of glorifying God by caring for children and families.

Enjoy developing, supervising, and participating in a variety of camp-wide programs and activities. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding and supporting youth in a range of recreational activities, fostering their talents and gifts. A strong commitment to maintaining professional boundaries with youth is essential. We expect our senior staff to exhibit consistent professionalism in dress, hygiene, greeting skills, and attitude, coupled with the ability to work both independently and as a part of a cohesive team.
